Essentra results knocked by virus

Manufacturer Essentra has reported lower pre- tax profits in the first half of 2020 after the pandemic weighed on revenue.

The FTSE 250 company posted a £ 7.9 million pre- tax profit for the six months to June, compared with £ 53.1m for the same period last year. The plastic and fibre product supplier said revenue fell 11.7 per cent to £ 448.8m for the half- year after the virus hit Q2 trading.
