Tasty tie- up: Kilmarnock’s Brownings to supply M& S stores with potato scones

Marks & Spencer has selected family business Brownings as a new supplier, reinforcing its commitment to the Scottish supply chain. The retail giant has partnered with the Kilmarnockbased firm to deliver traditional potato scones to 59 stores across Scotland. Brownings, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, is a third- generation family firm established in 1945 by current managing director John Galls’ grandparents. The firm employs 190 across its bakery, office, transport and stores, making it one of the largest traditional craft bakeries in Scotland.
