Football fans back on 12 September

Scottish football fans could be back in stadiums on 12 September following talks between government and Hampden officials.

The S cottish FA/ SPFL Joint Response Group says that sports minister Joe Fitzpatrick has confirmed up to three Scottish Premiership pilot events could take place ahead of the indicative date of 14 September for spectators to return to sports grounds.

Two of t he games are expected to be Rangers v Dundee United, and Ross County v Celtic.

A s t atement f r om t he JRG said: “If successful, t his would be par t of a phased return of supporters to football stadia with incrementally increased numbers i n t he weeks following the initial pilot event date.”
