Vote with heads

-

I should like to point out to businessmen likely to vote for Scottish independence in any new referendum that the Scottish Government has provided a maximum grant of £ 1,500 to businesses in Aberdeen to support t hem t hrough t he local lockdown. Compare this with the additional support given to Leicester businesses under their lockdown of between £ 2,500 and £ 10,000.

The stamp duty holiday on house sales given by the Westminster government is twice that offered by Holyrood.

These two issues are a fair i ndication of the way public spending in Scotland will compare with that south of the Border in the event of Scottish independence and I would urge Scots to vote with their heads and not their hearts in any new referendum.
