#CHADWICKBOSEMAN

Actor Chadwick Boseman, who played Black icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown before finding fame as the Black Panther in the Marvel cinematic universe, has died of cancer aged 43.

@Nicktalksmovies commented: “I’m destroyed by this news. Such a brilliant young talent. I don’t have the words, man. I’m praying for his family.”

@Dankknight214 agreed: “Seeing how he had lost a bit of weight, I was hoping he was healthy and the weight loss was for a role. This is heartbreaking. RIP.”

@Juliancarracino added: “I applaud him for not telling the media. Good for him to keep it private. Too many celebrities want to tell the media every little thing.”

@nuniebear paid tribute: “I’m so done with this year. Viruses, hurricanes and now kings? Rest in power.”

@Djackmarshall added: “He was battling colon cancer this entire time and never said a word, choosing to give his time toward providing lovers of film and comics performances that captured our hearts and minds. He’s a superhero, an idol we should all aspire toward.”

@johnlegend summed up: “I’m so shocked and heartbroken about Chadwick. He was such a bright light, such a gifted performer. He brought grace, elegance and power to everything he did.”

#CURRENTAFFAIRS

Efforts are under way to launch a Fox News-style opinionated current affairs TV station in Britain to counter the BBC, according to the Guardian.

An angry @Nuclearballsack tweeted: “Fox News isn’t news. It’s an outrage machine funded by Murdoch, keeping the likes of Trump, Carlson, Bannon and Hannity repressing any social progression in favour of a continuity of Reaganomics.”

@asomerscocks concurred: “Just look at what Fox News has done in the US to destroy the idea that truth exists and matters. These people have already begun by saying that the BBC tells lies.”

@bunfascists contributed: “The BBC are supposed to be neutral, however. We know Fox news intentionally lies and obfuscates, and during a time where we’re already dealing with so much misinformation, do we need to add another to the pile?”

@Iandunt opined: “This would be dreadful. Just another way for us to fragment into warring tribes.”
