Ross rules

-

A “Scotland First” approach is at the heart of a new blueprint unveiled by Tory leader Douglas Ross to save the country’s battered economy from the worst impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. His proposals include a three-lane M8 motorway between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

When Mr Ross decides to put himself before the Scottish electorate in a real constituency election then he will have earned the right to have his say. For now he is a coward trying to get elected on a regional list. That’s not leadership, that is deceit.

Chris Griffiths I always said we needed a Scottish Government that is willing to work constructively with the UK Government, so this is a good start.

Fiona Ogilvie Taylor Odd to see some actual policy from the Tories other than No to Indyref. Pity we just can’t trust a word they say. Any pledges and promises made by this shower need to be taken with a large pinch of salt. They take their orders from London Tory HQ

Stephen Livingstone

Sounds like he’s decided the only voters he needs are all travelling between Glasgow and Edinburgh in cars.

Colin Martin

How about a decent Edinburgh city bypass?

Hilary Wardell

Investment in Glasgow and Edinburgh. How very visionary.

David Brown If that is the extent of his vision then it is the red card from me!

Alan Ducat The boy must have hit his head or something. That almost sounded like an actual policy coming from a Scottish Conservative. If it was, then congratulations, and certainly not before time.

Barry Richardson Unless the Tories are prepared to slash taxes and red tape, there’s no chance of a recovery.

Francis Ferguson You can promise what you like when you’ll never be in power.

Ewan Carmichael He’s a Tory, so there will be a few U-turns.

Gerald Fill He says “we need to take power back from the government in Edinburgh and put power in the hands of people and communities across Scotland”. Absolutely. This will be a real positive step in the right direction for Scottish communities. The

SNP have been centralised control freaks during their time in office.

Cameron Mcleod He’s showing a bit of vision and unity to bring people closer together Better than the independence and Covid restrictions that we have to listen to on a daily basis

Charles Cunningham If he ever becomes First Minister of Scotland that would be the end of free prescriptions, free university, free road bridge crossing, free bedroom tax and a lot more. Scotland would just become a province of England
