Festival slump

-

The number of people on the streets of Edinburgh was down by two million in August without the city’s festivals going on compared to the same month in 2019.

Some Airbnbs were run by opportunists cramming many tourists into small flats. They are no loss and until Airbnbs becomes regulated they should be banned from the city centre .

As a native of Edinburgh, now living in Fife, I have always thought Edinburgh house prices over-inflated, partly caused by supply and demand, but aided and abetted by the “offers over” and the blind bidding in the Scottish house selling system. I think it would be better to have an open auction.

Ann Gilbertson

This August was tranquil compared to previous ones.
