Cynical tool

-

Clearly, Ni cola Sturgeon hopes to build on the benefits gained by her exploitation of the media on a daily basis for the last five months or so in the electoral process. This gives her party an unfair advantage.

Lord Foulke sis right to complain about this, as any party that seeks to dominate the media with unnecessary updates on Covid-19 is misusing its position. Such daily pronouncements guarantee not only that their statements are heard, but are repeated thereafter in every news report on radio and television.

Indeed, when the UK government has not felt the need to hold daily media conferences in Whitehall since late June, it can be seen to be a cynical seizure of a propaganda tool.

No fair election in Scotland, let alone any further referendum on breaking up the UK, can fairly be held in such circumstances.
