- By DUNCAN SMITH

Glasgow Warriors have confirmed that international back-rower Adam Ashe will be leaving the club, with the backrower pursuing new opportunities following the conclusion of the 2019-20 season.

The 27- year-old former Macp hail scholar won the first of six Scotland caps aged 21 against South Africa in Port Elizabeth on the 2014 summer tour.

Ashe made just three appearances for Glasgow last season, making his final appearance off the bench in December’s 20 -16 win over Edinburgh at Scotstoun. “I’ve had an abso - lutely brilliant eight years with the club,” Ashe told glasgowwarriors.org.

“I’ve been very fortunate to be involved with this club since leaving high school, and I’ve enjoyed every moment.

“I’ve played under a number of different coaches, made many good friendships and I can’t speak highly enough of the club and staff. The fans

have been amazing. I’ve got to know them on a personal level over the years, and I’ll be sad not to see them week in week out. They’re so loyal and turn up no matter the weather, so I want to say thank you to them.

“I feel like I’ve still got some of my best years ahead of me, however–I’ m excited for what’s to come, and I’m looking for ward to the next chapter.”

As he is recovering from shoulder surgery and will remain under the care of the club’s medical team for the coming months.

Also departing the club following the conclusion of the 2019-20 season is loosehead prop Charlie Capps.

The Harrogate-born 23-yearold made his Glasgow Warriors debut off the bench against Edinburgh last Friday, having initially joined on a one-year deal in the summer of 2019 from Stade Nicois.
