Greening scheme to continue

The Scottish Government has signalled to farmers that its £ 130 million greening scheme will continue next year - but with some simplifications.

The initiative - which sees farmers receive an extra payment f or c omplying wit h some regulations - has been in place since 2015 as part of t he Common Agricultural Policy ( CAP). It will continue next year despite Brexit. Rural Economy Secretar y Fergus Ewing said they would “make improvements that are tailored to suit Scotland’s unique agricultural and rural needs”.
