Warnings issued to housebuilders

Four of the countr y’s biggest housebuilders could risk court action if they do not commit to changing the way they do business, after the competition watchdog f ound evidence t hey had mistreated leasehold buyers.

The CMA said that it has written to Barratt, Countr yside Properties, Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey after uncovering “troubling evidence of potentially unfair terms”.
