Tay Letting pushes into Dundee with takeover of rival firm Lickley Proctor

- By SCOTT REID

Tay Letting has expanded into a third Scottish city following the takeover of Lickley Proctor Lettings in Dundee.

The acquisition adds more than 300 properties to Tay Letting’ sport folio, bringing the total properties managed by the company to more than 1,400. The latest deal, on undisclosed terms, comes two years after the firm launched into Edinburgh.

Tay said it had seen significant growth in recent years, buoyed by a strong retention rate and a “flourishing” investment arm.

Ten years after launching Tay Letting in Glasgow, company founder Marc Taylor has been encouraged by the firm’s buoyant performance in Edinburgh, led by Malcolm Pickard, head of east coast operations.

Taylor said: “Lickley Proctor is an excellent business with a fantastic reputation in the city of Dundee.

“Our success in Glasgow, then Edinburgh, has been down to the excellent service we provide. I believe by pro - viding that same high-quality service in Dundee, and building on Lickley Proctor’s reputation, there’s huge potential.”

Lickley Proctor was estab - li shed more than 120 years ago and manages properties in Angus, Tayside, Fife and beyond.

Lick ley Pr oct or’ s Robert Murray said: “It was absolutely vital we sold to a business who could maintain our high standards for customer service and our company’s values.

“We’ re proud of what we built and were utterly convinced by Tay’s vision for the company, as well as shared values and a commitment to clients’ interests.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with Marc, Malcolm and the team, and believe our clients will benefit from their quality of service, expertise, and processes,” he added.
