Video games top pocket money league
Video games such as Roblox and Fortnite have overtaken books and sweets at the top of pocket money spending charts for the first time, according to a report from Rooster Money.
The study found that, with access to shops and high streets limited and with more time spent at home during lockdown, children’s shift from the physical to the digital has accelerated over the last few months.
However, youngsters are saving 43 per cent of their pocket money every week – far above the average adult savings rate of 5.5 per cent.
