BP hypocrisy

Richard Dixon attacks BP for it’s record on fossil fuel emissions (Scotsman, 15 September ). I wonder how many times Mr Dixon has filled up his car with fuel that comes from BP, or gone on a flight similarly fuelled.

Next he complains that BP closed its solar arm. But more than 60 per cent of solar panels are made in China and 85

percent of China’ s primary energy consumption is from fossil fuel. So are solar panels effectively fossil fuel energy?

Mr Dixon obviously enjoys writing for newspapers, so why didn’ t he condemn Extinction Rebellion for their recent blockade of newspaper printing sites?
