1 Sergio Garcia, pictured, is making his 21st consecutive appearance in the US Open, with Adam Scott and Zach Johnson next best when it comes to repeat appearances with 19 and 17 respectively.
2 Winged Foot’s West Course will be set up at 7,477 yards and will play to a par of 35-35–70.
3 The event has been played seven times in the months of September and October. The last time it was played in September was in 1913 when Francis Ouimet won in a play-off at Brookline.
4 Brandon Wu, one of two local players in the field, will hit the opening shot off the first tee in the first round. Wu won last year ’s Open qualifier at Fairmont St Andrews.
