Labour pains

-

The people of Scotland are being left behind by Holyrood and Westminster administrations distracted by Brexit and independence, Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer has claimed. Sir Keir called on both governments to work together to tackle the virus and warned they must stop getting distracted by rows over the constitution.

Brexit sparked the drive for a second Indyref since we voted overwhelmingly to remain in the EU. But once again, blame the Scottish people for the mess of the UK, that’ll get them to change their minds.

Emma Nicol-hodgeson This proves again that UK Labour is totally out of touch with the Scotland of today. The First Minister has given the pandemic and health issues her totally focused attention and left it to the Tories to panic about Scotland’s desire to selfgovern. All the UK parties have minority support here. None of them speak for Scotland. Whatever new political structure emerges post-independence will give Labour the chance to restructure constructively to represent people here that currently reject and have turned away from the UK colonial rule of Westminster.

I joined the Labour Party to vote in Starmer. This is the first time I find myself disagreeing with him. Scotland’s future lies with independence and not with Westminster control.

George Brown

It’s Brexit that damages the union not SNP arguing against it. Has this man even looked at independence in a legitimate way? Or does he just now follow Boris.
