NFU launch web guide to Brexit

Despite the terms of the UK’S post-b rex it trading arrangemen­ts remaining unknown, farmers and growers are being urged to begin planning now for any eventualit­y when the transition period ends on 31 December.

Issuing the advice yesterday, NFU Scotland announced that it had launched a dedicated webpage to help its members prepare their businesses for the end of the transition period.

“With the negotiatio­ns on the future relationsh­ip b et ween the UK and the EU still under way and at a critical stage, it is important that we are prepared for any possible outcome,” said union president, Andrew Mccornick.

“Despite the uncertaint­y of what 1 January 2021 will look like for UK businesses, the team at NFUSh ave produced a comprehens­ive guide for our members to help them to prepare their businesses properly in the meantime,”

He said the pages prov id ed step-by-step signpostin­g for members to consider, starting with key questions, links to special-

ist UK Government guidance, who to speak to (suppliers, staff, agencies), and where to find further tailored guidance:

“Don’t forget that NFU Scotland is here for you – if you have a question about a specific aspect of how to prepare your business that has not been addressed in our advice pages, then our dedicated team can signpost you to the answer.”
