Situated in the heart of St Andrews, St Leonards is a forward- thinking, co- educational boarding and day school which offers an outstanding education.

St Leonards was named Scotland’s Independent School of the Year in 2019 and, for three years running, was ranked as the Top Independent School Sixth Form in Scotland for IB/ A- level results by the Sunday Times Schools Guide.

St Leonards was the first school in Scotland to be accredited as an all- through International Baccalaureate school, and is the only school in the UK to actively offer all four programmes. In Years

1- 6, pupils follow the Primary Years Programme. This is combined with extensive outdoor learning opportunities, with “Beach School” being a staple of the weekly timetable. The pupils then progress to the Middle Years Programme, before choosing either the Diploma Programme or the Career- related Programme in the Sixth Form.

Over the past three years, the boarding houses have undergone an extensive £ 4 million redevelopment. They have state- of- the- art kitchens and spacious communal areas. The bedrooms have newly fitted built- in beds and study spaces, with modern storage and lighting. Many bedrooms have sea views beyond the school playing fields. Full, flexi, and weekly boarding is available from age 10.

With the beach just a two- minute walk from the school grounds, well- established links with the

University of St Andrews, and seven championship links golf courses on the doorstep, co- curricular activities play an important role in school life. St Leonards’ five- tier golf programme continues to go from strength to strength, the Duke of Edinburgh Award is the fastest growing of all Scottish independent schools, and an exciting calendar of activities ensures pupils leave equipped with the skills and interests required to succeed.
