Electric scooter rider injured in hit-and-run

Am an needed hospital treatment after he was struck by a vehicle in a hitand-run as he rode an electric scooter in Edinburgh.

The 26- year-old was riding across Great King Street at its junction with Dundas Street in the centre of the Scottish capital when he was hit by a vehicle that failed to stop.

The man returned home and then made his way to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

Police were then made aware of the incident, which happened at about 9:45pm on Friday evening.

Officers are appealing for informatio­n.

Inspector Roger Park said: “Since this crash was reported to us, we have been carrying out inquiries to establish more details on this incident and we are working to identify the vehicle involved.”
