Cluster fudge
Starting next week in Vienna( population, two million) there will be a “Cluster Buster Bus” ready go to any school in the city where there’ s a suspected case of corona virus. It can do up to 48 tests per hour with results available in an hour. This is in addition to the current mobile team which can be sent to any school with a suspected case and can do 300 tests a day. The city is also preparing 600,000 gargle tests for its schools which can be self administered.
Compare that with the lamentable testing situation here and you can only shake your head and rage at the sheer in competence of those in charge in this part of the world.

I have to wonder why politicians are imposing Draconian rules on people’s freedom based largely on increasing numbers of positive Covid19 tests. Increased numbers of tests will, of course, be a factor but surely much of the increase is inevitable when only those showing virus symptoms are currently being tested?

It appears the increased level of testing is providing firm data on the Covid virus impact within our community.
It also, apparently, demonstrates low percentage of pos
itive tests which is a cause for concern. Is the low percentage of positive tests due to the general public reacting to cold symptoms or are there other explanations such as, most of the tests are to confirm NHS and care workers are free from the virus ( which would be a sensible precaution) and therefore essential tests?
Given the workload of the testing labs and testing sta - tions, plus the inference that the government should do
more, we should be informed as to why much of the testing produces a negative result. TONY LEWIS
