Mazda announces prices and specificat­ions for MX-30 electric crossover

Mazda’s first all-electric model, the MX-30, will cost from £25,545 when it goes on sale in the UK.

The battery powered crossover will be offered in three standard trims alongside the limited-edition First Edition.

Pre - orders for the £27,495 First Edition are now open, and the limited run of 500 cars will be the first models to arrive in the UK in March 2021. The full range, incorporat­ing SE-L Lux, Sport Lux and GT Sport Tech will then follow.

All versions of the MX-30 will use the same single 105kw electric motor, with a 35.5kwh batter y providing a range of around 124 miles.

All MX-30S will feature 18-inch alloys, LED headlights with daytime running lights, reversing camera, adaptive cruise control, satellite navigation and a head-up display.

SE-L Lux models will come in single-tone paint finish and also feature auto lights and wipers, an 8.8-inch infotainme­nt display, with smartphone mirroring, seven-inch digital instrument display, and a full suite of driver aid.

The £27,545 Sport Lux i s expected to be the biggest seller, adding chrome interior detailing, heated power-adjustable seats, lumbar support adjustment and keyless entry. It also introduces an optional two- or three-tone exterior finish.

The range-topping GT Sport Tech costs £29,845 with a cloth interior trim and £30,045 when equipped with artificial leather upholstery. Extra equipment on top of Sport Lux includes adaptive LED headlights, a front wip er de -icer, heated steering wheel, opening sunro of and 12-speaker Bose surround sound system.
