No deal Brexit

-

Boris Johnson has warned the UK must prepare for no trade deal with the EU. The Prime Minister announced Brussels would not give Britain the kind of deal he wants, and insisted unless that changed there would be no agreement.

It has always been his position — he never wanted a deal. His attitude will sour all relations and respect from all the EU countries and any allies. Who want's to trade with a country you cannot trust?

George Murray That’s been the Tory plan all along. This is going to screw every country on this island. The sooner Scotland breaks away from the mess Westminster has made the better

Mhari Macrae This is not an end point in its own right. Brexit will probably evolve over the next decade but it has ensured we will approach future agreements without having to compromise sovereignty for free trade, an entirely rational position. It also highlights the issues with the EU and why we are better off out. The EU is a declining economy with no desire to reform, deregulate, or lower taxes and has never embraced the ideology of free trade but is all about propping up inefficiency through protectionism.

Rory Kennedy From day one when Theresa May changed from remain to leave she said "no deal is better than a bad deal". This was always the plan

Gill Brownlie Of course, they want a period of chaos and confusion so their mates and themselves can profit as much as possible. This was always the goal.

Phil Allwright Spot on. How many of his ilk have already moved assets to EU countries? How many will profit from the economic collapse? Vultures.

Niall Bentley Perfect. It’s like a reboot!! You go back to any negotiation table without being encumbered.

Rick Glass We need to prepare? Voters in England were warned that this is what this dangerous bumbling politician always wanted. Congratulations England you are getting what you voted for. Apparently the rest of us don't matter.

Gordon Stafford It is all the same for him, because people like him always finds "a position" somewhere and navigate through the difficulties.

But what about the normal people, what about the farmers, the factories, the businesses and the consequences of this insanity? He could not care less for the country, so long has he makes a statement that that can be perceived as a show of strength. How are these people not schooled to be statesmen? We demand more of any future employee to fill any position than we demand of these politicians. In a few months we will all be suffereing the consequences – with the exception of these characters.

Paula Arruda He’s made a few mistakes lately but standing his ground is a great decision.

These unelected bureaucrats that run the EU can’t have their cake and eat it. Time to throw down the gauntlet.

Thomas Imrie Ultimately those “unelected bureaucrats" represent the wishes of the EC leaders who are elected. Boris promised us a deal, now hes trying to blame others. Suspect he always wanted a No Deal.

Thomas Imrie A few mistakes is an understatement. It was us that wanted to have our cake and eat it but you put whatever spin you want on it. I suppose you’re looking forward to your meat being pumped full of chlorine, to name but one horrendous result of Brexit.

James Donald So basically the clowns can’t broker a deal that was ovenready? Throwing the dummy out was what got us into this mess in the first place with Cameron's inability to give and take, then threatening a referendum when it didnt go

down too well.

Paul Bullough January 1st. 2021 – my birthday and what a present leaving the EU.

Can't make up my mind if this is living in hope, or faceslappingly stupid.

Paul Johnston I think even socially distanced events will struggle to go ahead. It's always freezing at the Tattoo anyway !

Alun Thomas Football fans will have to be allowed back frist

Ross Mcalpine Fingers crossed!
