Clyde boss Lennon relishing Partick derby as league opener
Clyde host Par t i ck Thistle and Broadwood boss Danny Lennon is delighted to have the derby feeling back even though there will be no fans.
Lennon said: “When I played for Thistle the games with Clyde were always big affairs. This is a big one as it is the first game of the season and our supporters would have loved to have been here.”
Jags boss Ian Mccall added: “Facing Clyde was huge 20 or 30 years ago but all I am interested in is building up momentum.”
Cove R a ngers b os s Paul Hartley reckons visitors East Fife are the perfect opposition to test his champions. He said: “They are well- established in this division and are always there or thereabouts when it comes to the play- offs. We will learn very quickly how ready we are.”
Falkirk start their second season in League 1 at Montrose with the Bairns looking to be on the front foot according to co- manager David Mccracken who said: “We believe that we have added players who are hungry for goals.”
Airdrie host Peterhead with Blue Toon manager Jim MCInally saying: “We will have to stand up to a side that can mix- up the way they play as they can pass the ball but also go direct.”
Forfar’s Betfred Cup campaign was disrupted and they are keen to get off to a winning against visitors Dumbarton. Boss Stuart Malcolm said: “We had our game with Dundee called off due to Covid. We have only had one competitive outing but I have to praise the players for how they got on against Hibs despite losing 1- 0. I will look for that level of performance in this game.”
