Accountants AAB report big growth year for audit services
Anderson Anderson & Brown (AAB), the accountancy and business advisor y firm, has reported one of its biggest growth years on record for its audit services after continuing to boost its team during lockdown.
Over the last year, new business wins total £800,000 from some 30 new clients, with 30 percent of these new wins having being secured over the past six months.
That came despite the entire team working from home, delivering services for clients across the Central Belt and the North-east of Scotland.
The Aberdeen-head quarte red firm, which also has offices in Edinburgh and London, said lo ckdown restrictions had placed a stronger focus on technology.
Partner and head of audit, James Pirrie, said :“Before lockdown, the audit team had been exceptionally busy and even as lockdown measures were put in place we demonstrated that, to the maximum extent possible, it was ‘business as usual’ in the audit department.
“The clients who have come onboard this year operate in a variety of sectors and are based right across Scotland, with many having overseas subsidiaries or parent companies.
“If we were to pick a positive from this challenging time, it is that we are more prepared than ever to tackle complex, audits in any location.”
The firm has some 275 staff including 18 partners and generated a turnover in the past year of about £22 million. There are a number of operating divisions within the group.
