#BIDENBREXIT

Dominic Raab has said that the United States will have “no greater ally or dependable friend” than Britain under a Joe Biden administration. The foreign secretary said that ministers were “excited” to work with the new president-elect and his team.

@Frank01de said: “I don't know about you but the words insincere and disingenuous spring to mind.”

@Snegreid commented: “You spelled ‘excited’ wrong. Correction: ‘crapping themselves’.”

@Peter81853661 posted: “Good luck with that. Presumably before it happens you'll have to get past the bit that says ‘we broke the International Agreement because...’.”

bwhittle23 remarked: “Think Biden wants to work with the EU. I notice that the odds on a Brexit deal have increased significantly.”

@Hottubt said: “A USA trade deal isn’t a game changer for an independent UK. We should, and hopefully are focused on the China free trade agreement. They are far more important.”

@tonysupport4biz posted: “Somebody should pin up pictures of Trump and Biden with captions in Boris

Johnson’s office in case he gets confused.”

@maxiboy19641988 commented: “I think he means terrified rather than excited now that their mate Trump is gone.”

@neskatxa replied: “Who wouldn’t be excited? He’s going to get a free education in statecraft.”

@federer_78 added: “Let’s see how their attitude has to change in relation to EU deal, how they deal with the Irish border. I have got the popcorn ready.”

#HARRYWREATH

The Duke of Sussex was refused permission for a wreath to be laid at the Cenotaph on his behalf today, in the latest sign of the gulf between him and the royal family.

@Only_me_4 said: “Prince Harry, senior member of the royal family and undertaker of public duties, lays a wreath at the Cenotaph. Harry Windsor, private citizen, doesn’t.”

@Likespolitics posted: “He can lay a wreath or buy a poppy like the rest of us. That's what he is – like the rest of us.”

@Invictusbypepp commented: This is not a good look for the royal family or their courtiers."

@artemisgoog added: “He has no business there now.”
