Firm on move after combined 125 years
Construction and property counsu lt ancy Thomas & Adamson is on the move after a combined 125 years in its Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.
Having been based in Wemyss Place in Edinburgh for 85 years, the capital operation is relocating to Lister Square at Quartermile.
Meanwhile, its Glasgow operation, which has been based in Woodside Terrace for some 40 years, will be moving into the heart of the city centre at Libertas House, St Vincent Place.
Senior partner Alastair Wallace said: “2020 has pre - sent ed many challenges, however there is no denyin go pp or tu ni ties have also occurred.
“At the star t of the year we were in the middle of a business modernisation project, which was cent red around people, premises and systems.
“Whilst Covid has had a significant impact on everyone’s life, it has bizarrely confirmed that our strategy was robust for now and the future and has given us the confidence to accelerate many of our plans.
“All our teams have efficiently adapted to new ways of working during lockdown and our technology investment enables everyone to undertake their working day, around their own life and we wish for this to continue.
“The criteria for our new offices was to remain in city centre locations, and to provide an environment which could be transformed into space to suit our new ways of working.”
The firm said it appointed Cuthbert White to help it review its property strategy, which ultimately resulted in the choice of new premises. It is likely that the offices will be ready in February with doors opening to staff when restrictions allow.
