TV channels unveiled some of its Christmas shows, including specials for Call the Midwife, All Creatures Great and Small, Doctor Who and Mrs Brown’s Boys.
@pinklolita moaned: “Forget Covid, there’s my Christmas ruined... Mrs Brown’s Boys. I demand to know who watches it and who likes it?”
@fiwithers added: “I don’t understand the attraction of Mrs Brown on Christmas Day. I’d rather watch reruns of Morecambe and Wise!”
@lauren4100 asked: “Am I the only person who actually likes Mrs Brown’s Boys? I know it’s stupid and most of it isn’t even funny, but it’s just become a part of Christmas and New Year for me. There’s just something nice about sitting down to watch it in the evening on Christmas Day.”
@Tommyeas2 replied: “I personally don't watch any of those shows, but instead of moaning about it, I simply switch to another channel... Or spend time with family, both options so much better than getting upset at TV content.”
@willbowden1 tweeted: “The BBC does loads of fantastic stuff, although root canal work is an attractive alternative to Mrs Brown. I enjoy Doctor Who, though, because every episode of the current incarnation is like prodding a wasps’ nest of Daily Mail readers with a stick.”

It was reported that the UK government Cabinet Office is routinely obstructing freedom of information requests and has a blacklist of journalists working for the Guardian and the Daily Mirror.
@Martin435 wrote: “With a massive Tory majority, this is how it is, unabated for the next four years at least..”
@anotherfacepalm wrote: “How about a network of people that will submit Freedom of Information requests? Happy to help.”
@paul689 wrote: “Very disturbing.”
@amaryllishoy said: “This is not fit and proper behaviour for the Cabinet Office. A working fourth estate is vital for democracy. They shine a light into the many shady corners of this Government.”
@anthonyw182 wrote: “This is so bad. Everything the government does is paid for by the taxpayer, and that’s why everything the government does is made public. (Unless its a threat to national security). What this is, I don’t know, I can only guess that it’s a government hiding all its mistakes.”
