Kinloch returns to Scotland after lengthy spell in Middle East to take up Aboyne post

Mike Kinloch is returning to Scotland after a lengthy stint in the Middle East to become the director of golf at Aboyne Golf Club.

The St Andrews man, who starts in the role next month, has spent the last 12 years at Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, having also had a spell in Kuwait, where he help ed establish the first grass golf course and resort.

“I have been looking for the next challenge in my career back in Scotland and the role at Ab oyne really excites me and is exactly what I am looking for,” said Kinloch.

“I have been impressed with the vision and st rategic intent of the Council at Aboyne.

"It is great to see such a forward-thinking and progressive club in these testing times for the sport as we start the recover y from Covid-19.

It is a club with a substantial track record of success growing the game at both junior and novice level and I look forward to further inc re asing the club’ s profile and national standing.“
