I would never criticise best keeper in Premier League says Mourinho after Lloris mistake

- By CRAIG FORBES

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho called Hugo Lloris the best goalkeeper in the Pre - mier League despite his role in Crystal Palace's goal in a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park.

Lloris was unable to hold Eb er echiEze' s free-kick, which allowed Jeffrey S chlupp to ram home an 81stminute equaliser to cancel out Harry Kane's first-half opener.

It was a story of two goalkeeper s as Vic en teGuai ta then made two stunning saves to make amends for his first-half error and deny Spurs a winner as Mo urin ho' s title challengers dropped two points.

Spurs had to defend a barrage of second-half pressure, so S chlupp's equaliser was well deserved, but Lloris was exonerated by Mourinho.

"My goalkeeper is the best goal keeper in the Premier League, so I would never be critical of the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, period," Mourinho said.

"If I have to blame anybody I have to blame ourselves, the team. The ones that win, the ones that draw and the ones that lose.”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp lamented his side's sluggish start after they had to come from behind to secure a late point in a 1-1 draw at Fulham.

Fulham took a wellde served lead in the 25 th minute, but the Reds eventually found the equaliser when Mohamed Salah converted from the spot 10 minutes from time.

Fulham welcomed back 2,000 supporters to Craven Cottage for the first time since February, something which Klopp believes had an impact in bringing Liverpool's 18-match winning streak against newly-promoted sides to an end.

"I' m not frustrated any more about that but, you're right, it took us half an hour to get going and that of course makes the game more difficult," the German manager said.

"It's the first time supporters are here for a long, long time and they obviously create an atmosphere, and it helped Fulham a lot to cre - ate that atmosphere.

Ralph Has en huttlh as insisted Southampton can sustain their strong start to the Premier League season.

Saints sealed their seventh win in 12 games this term, cruising to a 3-0 victory over struggling Sheffield United at St Mary's.

Che Adams, Stuart Armstrong and Nathan Redmond found the net as Saints thumped Chris Wilder' s Blades, moving third in the table, at least temporarily.

Saints will make the trip to Arsenal on Wednesday before hosting Manchester City on Saturday - and boss Hasenhuttl cannot wait for two fixtures he considers acid tests for his side.

"I recognise the steps we have made, this is very obvious in every part of our game, and it's not one par t we're looking for," said Hasenhuttl.

"Even set-pieces are getting better and better. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't continue what we're doing at this moment.”

In the later games, James M addison scored twice as Leicester produced a relentless first-half display to beat Brighton 3- 0 and climb to third in the Premier League, while Granit Xhaka was sent off as a desperately poor Arsenal side were stunned 1-0 at home by Premier League strugglers Burnley.
