Festive lights are sparkling across the country as people bring some cheer into their streets for the last weeks of 2020.
From the big city shows to the small, heartfelt displays of community and togetherness, there is something extra special to be found in the lights that will help guide us out of this most challenging year.
In Newburgh in Fife, the lights have simple designs made with love and hope by local schoolchildren.
The Callander community has separately come together to add some sparkle to the pretty town that sits in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Illuminations and lasers have been used to lift festive spirits in Glasgow's George Square, with the bright lights falling over the centre of Scotland's biggest city.
The Glasgow Loves Christmas event has involved the city's most iconic buildings being illuminated every evening.
Montrose in Angus has benefited from an upgrade to its Christmas lights this year and is dazzling with a veil of sparkle over the town's Ballhouse after the Santa Claus in Montrose charity raised money for the illuminations.
In Castlebay, crochet and knitted squares have been sent from around the world from from those with fond memories of a trip to the Isle of Barra.
The squares are stitched together to make a cosy tree and a second one is being made this year, such has been the response.
The light trail at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh has left visitors with a lovely festive glow.
Forres is feeling extra festive as shopkeepers come together to decorate their windows, with the town tree also gaining some extra sparkle.
The nine metre creel tree at Ullapool has also resurfaced. The tree, made from creels used for catching shellfish, has become a tradition in the village since it was first constructed in 2016.
The Stromness Living Advent Calendar has been created by residents and businesses, which have come together to bring some festive warmth to the streets this year.
Streets, houses and landmarks in Ballater have also been lit up to spread Christmas cheer and raise residents' spirits after the village in Aberdeenshire was forced to axe its traditional pipe band and parade.
