‘This feels like the worst defeat ever’ says Mcpake after Pars hit back from 3-0 down to draw at Dens

Dunfermlin­e did not fully eat into Hearts’ advantage at the top of the Championsh­ip but the second-placed Pars are heading into Christmas feeling good about themselves after coming back from three goals down to draw 3-3 at Dundee.

The Dark Blues, who sit seventh, took the lead on 35 minutes when former Scotland midfielder Charlie Adam cracked home from 35 yards and it was 2-0 six minutes into the second half when Osman Sow rose to glance in an Adam freekick with his head to regis te rh is first goal for the club.

The game looked dead and buried with 20 minutes left when another Adam delivery was turned in by Liam Fontaine, but Paul Watson’ s header brought the Pars alive on 78 minutes.

Three minutes into injury time, Mcmanus curled in a 25-yard free-kick to secure a point that had looked lost. Dunfermlin­e manager Stevie Crawford said: “We lost bad goals and I could not complain about being three down as Dundee had been the better side. However, the effort and the commitment in the second half shows what playing for this club means to the boys.”

Dundee manager James Mcpake said: “We had made a good Dunfermlin­e side look ordinary and I am disgusted by the final 12 minutes.

"It feels like the worst defeat ever and it is not even a defeat.”

Morton, who looked to be in crisis 10 days ago when David Hopkin walked away, now sit third after a 2-0 home win over Queen of the South.
