L i v i n g s t o n d e f e n d e r Jo n Guthrie knows momentum i s massive i n f ootball and i nsists David Martindale's squad have a belief they can win whenever they step on to the pitch after five straight victories.

The West Lothian side produced an impressive display in a 2- 0 Scottish Premiership win over Hamilton on Wednesday to move one point outside of the top six.

Livingston passed up a series of opportunities in the first half but their pressure finally told when Guthrie headed in the opener seven minutes after the interval to notch his fourth goal of the campaign.

Josh Mullin added their second in stoppage time when he curled home a free- kick to ensure the scoreline was more reflective of their dominance in the game.

Determined to make it six wins in a row as they head to Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock today, Guthrie said: "In football, momentum is a big thing, everyone is going into

games so positive and that comes from what we're doing on the training ground.

"We've stuck to our principles, working hard and it seems to be showing on the pitch now.

"You get t he f eeli ng t hat when we step on to the pitch that ' yes, we're going to win this' and our performance against Hamilton was one of our best of the season. The way we moved the ball about, the chances we created and we didn't really give away any chances. So, we were delighted with the performance.”

Conversely, Killie have suffered seven defeats from eight league games, failing to score in all seven and manager Alex Dyer feels his squad fully appreciate the magnitude of their next four matches. He said: "It's a big period now, the next f our games, because we play all the teams around us. We all know that, we are honest with one another, and we want to get as manypointsaswecanoutofthe next four games."

"( Our position) is not for the want of trying because the boys are digging in. They are all working hard.

"We need a little bit of luck and weare not getting it, but we need to make our own luck and we have to keep working hard and keep putting ourselves in positions to score goals, and it will change.”
