No effect
The Scottish Parliament has voted to refuse consent for Boris Johnson’s trade Bill with the EU, which was passed by the Commons yesterday. It won’t stop the Bill becoming UK law.
What an embarrassment for Scotland. What an utter waste of time and energy. Lies, twisted words and misdirection yet again from the SNP. They wanted Scotland to leave the EU in 2014, then after the Brexit vote, they wanted a deal, now there’s a deal, they don’t want it. Even Yes, Minister couldn’t script the Scottish Parliament, it would be regarded as too farfetched.

Unionists: “This Holyrood vote means nothing". And there, friends, we have it, the absolute argument as to why we must be Independent.
David Richardson
Actually it means everything, that is why you Nats are raging. SNP economic policy proposals will be laughable moving forward, job losses and the years of austerity are
all you can offer. You should be happy to be part of the fifth biggest economy in the world.
John Greig Politicking at its worst. Children!
Jim Donald
A laughing stock, a complete embarrassment... callers for dissolution of Holyrood have never had more ammunition!
David Brown
So, what? They arranged a sitting just to stir up grievance! Why don’t they debate education standards or the effect the school exam shambles is having on pupils sitting highers in 2021!
Guy Mitchell
There is me thinking Ian Blackford made the SNP'S position very clear on the Brexit deal the other day. Was the FM just exhibiting more political grandstanding, or had she
simply forgot?
Anna Mosspaul
What a complete farce.
Robert Parker
The Holyrood vote effects and means nothing.
Ian Smith
Well done wasting time on a non-vote. SNP have already voted for a No Deal.
Andrew Forrester
When circumstances alter it would be a shoddy piece of work if opinions didn't, too.
Joan Summers
Fortunately the Scottish Parliament doesn’t run the UK.
Malcolm Mcdonald Yet more Holyrood time wasted while the country goes to ruin.
Mike Scales [Nicola], keep to your devolved responsibilities and stop trying to big yourself up into a politician.
