Lockdown again

-

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon addressed the Scottish Parliament yesterday, announcing a full lockdown across Scotland that will go on until at least the end of the month.

It was a masterclass of how deliver a difficult message. Outline the evidence, communicate the response and rationale, agree a review date and deliver it with authenticity, empathy and honesty.

This is going to cost a lot of jobs, I know as I have just lost mine but I have been lucky to get something quick, but just had a call saying they are taking it one day at a time.

David Colman

A lot more will remain open than it did in March… including fast food outlets.

Steffi Mcintyre OK, so we are all going to follow the increased restrictions so need you to get going with the vaccination programme in an urgent manner. No excuses, no blame of other people, get us vaccinated!

Rick Glass

None of the previous lockdowns have worked, so – let's do another one!

James Tierney

While folk are dying and NHS staff are struggling, suck it up and stick to the rules.

Donald Hunter

First time I've watched her in a while and you know what? Nothing party political whatsoever. Firm decisive leadership and it's what Scotland needs right now. Now Boris, close the borders please.

James Thomas Kilpatrick

Governments have a duty of care to keep people safe - the economy comes second.

Graeme Clark

We can’t risk financial implosion when other countries are focusing on the economy or we will once again be left behind with a mountain of debt for future generations.

James Kelly She will do more and more damage to Scotland before she gets booted out in May’s elections and she is loving the power she has with this lockdown.

Mark Mcdonald As much as I dislike Nicola Sturgeon and her nationalism, with her ready willingness to politicise and portray the United Kingdom in a poor light, she is the FM, she has the authority and responsibility, and so no matter what my views, adhering to guidance is what we are called to do.

Carl Elsegood Too little too late, this should have happened well before now and if people had followed the guidelines we might have never got to this point, let’ s just hope vaccinations get done very quickly.

Derek Mason People will not comply and it will be like all the other lockdowns, we need a better plan.

John Murd och You can't blame the politicians for this. If everybody had the sense to do what they're asked to do we wouldn't be in this mess.

Mary Forsyth
