# PERCYPIG

Percy Pig may be one of the first casualties of Brexit red tape, with Marks & Spencer warning that its famous pink sweets could be hit with new import taxes in Ireland.

@ davemacclad wrote: “There's no way Brexit would have won if people had known of the collateral damage to Percy Pigs.”

@ cormcmccoy tweeted: “Go ahead... We have our own sweets ya know...”

@_ ducksplash write:

“Taytos offered as sacrifice in exchange for pigs.”

@ zombywoof4 added:

“The more I read stories like this, the more I'm convinced that no- one in the UK Government actually realised what the full implications of the UK/ EU WA were. It's a total failure of government.”

@ cactuswoman said: “TBH I doubt if they read it in detail, plus all the caveats, foot notes, etc.”

@ densitypoint replied:

“It's worse than that I think -- they were wilfully blind to them: experts (" had enough of those") were screaming all along about the consequences of a thin deal.”

@ promikefraser wrote: “I've got a great idea, why don't we combine the different customs territories and market regulations? That would sort it out. Then all we'd need is an equal say in the changing of the rules in the future, and to make a fair contribution to the administration of it.”

# ALISONHAMMOND

New This Morning presenter Alison Hammond, on her first day with Dermot O’leary, asked Graham Norton if he still had his dog and the answer came: “No… dead.”

@ louisea wrote: “OMG bring back Eamonn and Ruth. Turning off now, I’m afraid.” @ gigi6330 agreed: “Watching this clip just sums it up perfectly why I decided I was not going to be watching This Morning on Fridays anymore now. You have made a huge mistake replacing Eamonn and Ruth.” @ Donnymacedin tweeted: “Not long after my father died, a colleague asked about him and whether he had enjoyed New Year with me. He'd died on the 1st. Actually I couldn't help laughing when I said to my colleague "probably not". Don't be harsh on @ Alisonhammond. Am sure she's mortified.”

@ hoddershal said: “I love Alison, she is like a breath of fresh air and proves she is human like the rest of us, capable of a cock- up, and deals with it well.”
