School’s (still) out

-

Schools will remain closed after the First Minister's decision not to lift any restrictions

Even school staff and teachers knew this and planned for it though so it’s no great shock at all ,or shouldn’t be. A lot school staff aren’t expecting to be back until Easter time to allow for vaccinations.

So relieved to hear this. I don’t understand why anyone would be angry about it when it’s for our and our children’s safety.

Mark English Blind hatred of anything the SNP do seems to enough of an excuse for most.

I’m wondering if it might be worthwhile re-starting the full school year when things start getting back to “normal”. I feel so sorry for the senior year pupils such an important year for them.

My son is in sixth year. He's applying for uni, starting in September. Obviously, we went through this all last year with the cancellation of his Higher exams. Hopefully the government has learnt from the mistakes of last year so there will be no downgrading . Teachers are constantly assessing them and gathering evidence for grades. I wouldn't worry too much, I think teachers had an idea of how things may turn out when the schools went back after the summer so they are a bit more prepared for all this.

I worry for the primary kids as the fundamentals of their education is suffering and this will have an impact when they attend high school. However, I think this is a sensible move.

Schools should have never been shut – kids need normality back. We’re home schooling because of a virus that will most likely not affect them.
