Eye spy Pump it up

Lothian Tory MSP Miles Briggs says he is "more concerned than ever" after a meeting with Health Secretary Jeane Freeman on the future of Edinburgh's Princess Alexandra Eye

Pavilion. The Scottish Government has told NHS Lothian it will not fund a £45m replacement for the pavilion despite an initial agreement two years ago. Edinburgh needs its Eye Pavilion. Asking people to travel go the Jubilee in Clydebank would be a scandal. I don't expect the NHS or government would pay transport fees, or are they going to run free shuttle buses?

Jean Irvine After attending a lot with my mother over the last two years, I know that many elderly people go there. How on earth are they to get to Livingston? The staff are brilliant and friendly. I know people have addictions. However, £250m for drugs rehabilitation and they are refusing £45m for the Eye Pavilion?

Christine Jones

This is a well-used specialist team resource and should not be split up or moved out of the city. It would not be acceptable nor what the people of Edinburgh want.

Joanna Roberts

Most people who attend this eye hospital don’t drive due to sight loss. It’s hard enough for them to find their way into Edinburgh, but Glasgow?

A new type of unleaded petrol, known as E10, which could damage hundreds of thousands of older cars, is set to become the UK’S standard petrol by the end of 2021. The new fuel produce less CO2.

This is a plan to get older cars of the road. A lot of drivers work on a budget of just £1,000. That won't get near a ten-year-old old car. It will cost a lot of money to convert classic cars again. It's not been long since they were converted to unleaded. This is just a ploy to take a million cars and drivers off the road.

David Nisbet Hardly environmentally friendly considering the impact of scrapping old cars over manufacturing new ones.

David Mcgrath

A scam to make you get an over-priced electric car.

Michael Wonnacott

The damage being done to life from these fuels is alarming. The only solution is to have the courage to ban them altogether. Mr Johnson and co are to be commended here.

JO Don Just another way to deprive poorer people of their transportation.
