Isuzu launches new D-max pick-up

Isuzuhasrevealedthethirdgeneration of its D-max pick-up truck, with prices starting at around £20,000, writes Jim Mcgill.

Buyers will have a choice of rear- or four-wheeldrive four trim levels and three body styles; a single cab, an extended cab or a double cab.

Every exterior panel is new and this third generation boasts a longer wheelbase, strengthened chassis and larger load bed.

Inside, the cabin features a new soft-touch dashboard and a nine-inch infotainment system. There’s also more sound insulation and enhanced safety equipment including lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition and autonomous emergency braking.

Power comes from the same 1.9-litre diesel engine asbefore,delivering162bhp and 267lb ft. It’s also fitted with the same six-speed manual gearbox as the second-gen or an optional all-new six-speed auto.
