Neil Parry takes charge at Persimmon’s East Scotland
● Former director in charge, Neil Parry, has been appointed managing director with overall responsibility for housebuilder Persimmon Homes’ East Scotland business based in Bathgate.
The teamcurrentlyworkacrossthe City of Edinburgh, Stirling, Falkirk, East Lothian, Midlothian, Scottish Borders and West Lothian.
Bringing more than 37 years’ experience in the construction industry Neil accepted the top job at the start of 2021. “I am extremely proud to be named managing director and look forward to leading the East Scotland team as we continue to play our part in the company’s ongoing growth,” said Neil, 52, who started his career as an apprentice. “Throughout the pandemic the team has shown a great deal of resilience, resourcefulness and empathy for customers and each other, and while I understand that everyone simply wants to get back to normal, we are very aware that right now people need a bit of extra support.”
Edinburgh-based robotics and STEM education company Robotical has bolstered its team with four new hires as it rolls out the latest version of its hero product, Marty The Robot.
The new additions take the Robotical team to 12 with the focus on building greater awareness of Marty - a characterful STEM education tool that brings learning coding to life. Natalya Ratner is head of marketing; Michael Sinclair joins as learning experience manager; Siobhan Duncan takes on the role as lead developer, with an Mres in robotics and autonomous systems from Heriot Watt University and currently completing her PHD from the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics; and Brano Pilnan joins as software engineer.
Following Thincats’ recent announcement of a record year for lending in 2020, with almost £300 million provided to midsized businesses across the UK, the company has added to its Scotland and northern credit team with the addition of Ben Drummond as credit partner. Thincats operates a regional credit model where origination and credit terms work together to service funding proposals from corporate finance advisers, brokers and accountants.
