Will Labour support raising corporation tax?
@Owenjones84 said: Why can't they say: "Yes, as we recover, we think big businesses should contribute more to help build the prosperous, just society we all deserve, as Joe Biden's administration is doing." Labour should just say “yes we support a £20 weekly uplift in Universal Credit in perpetuity, until we can replace it with a system that better supports people and their families.”
@Paulbranditv posted: It is a slightly surprising situation to hear Labour arguing against an immediate rise in corporation tax while the Conservative Chancellor considers hiking it significantly. Labour’s message on big business is somewhat confusing.
@faisalislam said: “Right thing to do right now is to keep supporting economy” Chancellor tells Marr but “over time we need to make sure we have strong public finances.” Clearly going to be substantial fiscal giveaway this year, q is extent to which this is, if at all, reversed subsequently.
@Nazirafzal wrote: I hate practise of interviewing Chancellor or any other Minister before the budget or a key announcement .They will say “wait for the announcement” when challenged on detail - so what’s the point? Get them on immediately after, when you know the detail they have been hiding.

@Drmoiras said: I’ve watched this woman work her hardest through the Covid-19 crisis. She’s there, every day, doing her utmost for the people of Scotland. I continue to be impressed.
@dmccafferty posted: Unionists trying to bring down FM to prevent a Holyrood majority and Indyref2 have given her a live TV platform for 5/6 hours (taking on all comers) to show exactly why we should do the opposite. As far as / tactics go this is a howler of an own goal.
@_lesley_runs says: Following the news that the Tories have sold GP practices to American health insurance companies, I just joined the the SNP.
@Alibee9 writes: #skynews did Adam Boulton go after Matt Hancock, Priti Patel, Jenrick, Boris, etc after being found unlawful, not forgetting Cummings? No they did not! In Edinburgh baying for blood of FM – absolutely sickening!
