STV appoints David Mckeith as new North division editor

-

STV has promoted news producer David Mckeith to the role of editor of the broadcaster’s STV North division. A key player in the STV News operation in the north for almost three decades, Mckeith first joined STV – then known as Grampian Television – in 1992. He had previously been a reporter at the Sunday Post.

Mckeith, who was born in Perth and grew up in Dunfermline, initially worked on early morning bulletins on GMTV, before becoming a presenter on nightly news programme North Tonight.

David Mckeith’s career has seen him cover many of the biggest stories to affect Scotland in recent memory, from the Piper Alpha tragedy and Lockerbie bombing, to the 2005 G8 summit in Gleneagles.

He takes over his new role from longserving editor Donald John Macdonald, who sadly died in December.

CALA Homes (West) has appointed Moray Stewart as land director in a strategic move for the firm as it focuses on growth within its urban development portfolio.

Moray was land manager at CALA Homes (West) for four years before returning to the firm after a two-year stint at Avant Homes.

Now responsible for leading short-term land opportunities and acquiring new sites in the west region, Moray’s expertise in Glasgow’s urban offering will support CALA’S ambition to increase its city-centre developments over the coming years.

Volpa, the independent PR and marketing agency based in Perth, has appointed award-winning PR practitioner Emma Davies to the role of account director.

Davies was awarded accredited practitioner status by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) last year and recently completed the Strategic Marketing module of Heriot Watt's Edinburgh Business School's MBA course while furloughed.

She joined Volpa in 2019 after running her own freelance consultancy and is a specialist in public relations with 20 years' experience working with organisations across the UK. She began her career in London and moved to Scotland in 2007.
