League One leaders Falkirk picked up their first win in four as they ran out 2-1 victors at home to Clyde.

Ben Hall opened the scoring for the Bairns on nine minutes, before Aidan Keena grabbed his first league goal midway through the second half. Josh Jack pulled a goal back for the Bully Wee.

Bairns co-boss David Mccracken said: “It was a massive win and we bounced back in the right way after losing in midweek.”

Rory Mcallister’s controversial second-half strike was the difference as Cove beat Dumbarton 1-0 to keep the pressure on Falkirk. Mcallister’s 54th-minute opener looked to have been cleared off the line by Sons’ Sam Wardrop, but ref David Lowe awarded the goal that keeps Jim Duffy’s side in the relegation play-off spot.

Aaron Lennox’s 94th minute own goal – one of three in the game – proved costly as Airdrie came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Montrose. Cammy Ballantyne put Montrose ahead before Airdrie captain Sean Crighton diverted the ball into his own net to give Stewart Petrie’s side a two-goal cushion. Russell Mclean’s own goal pulled a goal back for the Diamonds before Lennox palmed the ball into his own net at the death.

Partick picked up their first win in three games after beating Peterhead 3-0 at Balmoor. Joe Cardle’s first half strike put the Jags ahead, before Scott Tiffoney and Brian Graham both scored inside eight second-half minutes to jump above both Airdrie and Montrose into third.

East Fife pulled level on points with Thistle and Montrose after winning 2-1 at Forfar. Ryan Wallace and Kevin Smith were on target for the visitors either side of Jordan Allan’s goal for the Loons who had Bernard Coll dismissed.

In League Two, 10-man Queens Park extended their lead at the top to 12 points after winning 3-1 at Stenhousemuir. First-half goals from Simon Murray and Bob Mchugh put the visitors in control but they were reduced to 10 men when Peter Grant saw red just a minute into the second half. Louis Longridge added a third before Tommy Muir pulled a goal back from the penalty spot. Spiders boss Ray Mckinnon said: “The momentum changes with the red card, but I still felt we were comfortable.”

Liam Brown’s fifth-minute winner helped Edinburgh City back into second as they won 1-0 at Stranraer.

Stirling beat Annan Athletic 2-1. Dylan Mackin put the Binos ahead, with Andy Ryan’s second-half penalty doubling their lead before Max Wright pulled a goal back. Tony Wallace was dismissed in the closing stages as Stirling moved third.

Cowdenbeath ended a run of four straight defeats with a narrow 1-0 win at home to Elgin, thanks to Kris Renton’s first-half goal.

Brechin sit six points adrift at the bottom after going down 4-2 at home to Albion Rovers. Lewis Wilson and Paul Gallagher helped Rovers go two up but Rory Currie hit back before halftime. Rovers restored their two-goal advantage thanks to strikes Ryan Stevenson and Callum Wilson before Chris Mckee saw red for Brechin.player/bossmichael Paton’s last-minute free-kick pulled a second back for City.
