Solicitors branch out to launch new legal firm in heart of Glasgow after more than a year of remote working
Four solicitors have branched out to launch a legal firm based in the centre of Glasgow.
Mckee Campbell Morrison (MCM) will specialise in corporate work, commercial and residential property, private client, dispute resolution and insolvency.
Stacy Campbell, Maureen Matheson, Fraser Morrison and Alan Mckee are all formerly directors of Macdonald Henderson. The firm will be based at The Hatrack building on St Vincent Street in the city centre. The lawyers said that after more than a year of remote working and adapting to ever-changing circumstances as a result of the pandemic, the time was right to launch their venture.
Morrison, managing director of MCM, said: “During the challenges of the past year we have formed a strong bond as we adapted to new ways of working.
“During that period we have taken some time to re-evaluate and explore new opportunities, and this has been the catalyst for us to take the leap and start our own firm.
“There remains a strong appetite for quality legal services across a variety of sectors, and with our collective expertise, MCM is ready to meet that demand. Despite the challenging climate we believe that we have the ability to be adaptable and respond to market conditions.”
He added: “We have a quality client base, including a variety of SMES [small and medium-sized enterprises), publicly listed companies, entrepreneurs and private clients, including high net-worth individuals, and we look forward to growing this client base in the coming year and beyond.”
The firm will launch with the four directors, each covering their own specialist areas, along with residential property executive Victoria Lawson. The venture has made further hires, with additional staff joining in the coming months.
Morrison added: “The past year has shown us we don’t need to be in an office full-time to work efficiently, however we believe there is still a place for office space, and we’re proud to have such a fantastic base in the heart of Glasgow.
“We’ll be adopting a blended model of home and office workingaswelaunchthisexciting new venture. We look forward to continued growth and acquiring more talent in existing areas and new sectors.”
