Co-founder Michelle takes over at tech start-up Eden Scott

● Michelle Lownie, a company cofoundera­nddirector­atedenscot­tsince its inception in 2003, has become chief executive after effectivel­y performing the role since March 2020.

She has successful­ly steered the multi-million pound executive search and selection business through the pandemic and the Brexit transition. Eden Scott's operations in the tech start-up sector have proven resilient and helped with new start-up ventures in Biotechnol­ogy, Fintech, Cyber Security and Space Tech markets. Michelle said, "I'm delighted about this new role, and I know I will benefit from the continued support of an excellent leadership team here and, of course, with our energetic and upbeat wider staff complement.

"Our 2020-21 financial year has just drawn to a close, and it looks like we will have some very positive numbers to share despite a £300k dilapidati­ons bill to settle as we moved from our long-held St Andrews Square HQ to more modern, open-plan space overlookin­g Princes Street."

Melissa Mcmahon has joined The Software Advisory Service (SAS) from the acclaimed Edinburgh based AI software company Dayshape.

The appointmen­t is a new senior position with the business and follows The Software Advisory Service’s announceme­nt of the opening of its new Tenerife office – its fourth to sit alongside Glasgow, London and Malaga.

Melissa will be based out of SAS'S Glasgow office, and lead teams across Europe. With more than 20 years’ experience in strategic marketing roles in the UK and Washington, including at Skyscanner, American Express, and Capgemini, Melissa most recently led the rebrand of Scotland's fastest growing tech company, Dayshape. Independen­t cyber security business Adarma has appointed Cheryl Martin as thenew head of its security consulting practice. The organisati­on with offices in London and Edinburgh is one of the largest independen­t security services companies in the UK and works to safeguard businesses from cyber threats.

Cheryl joins from Gartner Consulting where, as senior managing director, she led the firm’s financial services arm. She has more than 25 years’ experience in IT and cyber security.
