#COVIDANXIETY

The UK is gradually returning to normal as the Covid vaccine rollout continues, yet it seems many people have been left with a chronic fear of reintegrating, said the Daily Telegraph.

@cymraescariad tweeted: “I don't like this terminology. Being worried abou t an ongoing pandemic isn't the same thing as an anxiety disorder/syndrome. It's kind of disrespectful to those who truly suffer from debilitating anxiety disorders to call being extra careful about Covid measures an anxiety disorder.”

@dlamick said: “Why do I want to reintegrate with a bunch of psychopaths who refused when asked to keep other people safe?”

@djparky1 wrote: “The media have been pumping out terror messaging for the last 15 months designed to scare people, combined with being imprisoned in our homes for months on end, what do you expect? Covid is nasty but this is just as bad.”

@wanderingcad wrote: “Though I have no doubt that covid-related anxiety is real and will persist even if/when we reach herd immunity, we are not there yet, and labeling people who continue to practice caution in their daily choices today as having a syndrome seems premature and irresponsible.”

#THEREPAIRSHOP

The BBC show in which experts fix sentimental items seems one way of soothing troubled souls.

@philipardagh tweeted: “The Repair Shop really is one of the most wonderful, life-affirming programmes on any channel or streaming service, full of kindness, love of family, and proving how seemingly little things can mean so much, all under the guise of true craftspeople at their best. Gentle genius.”

@Mwlizzy added: “A visual version of a warm hug.”

@oddsox69 replied: “The feel good factor that everyone needed during lockdown.”

@paulafsoop wrote: “I love the Repair Shop but some of the teddy bears really need to go in the bin.”

@Simmo_1977 tweeted: “The Repair S hop has got to be one of the nicest programmes on TV . The repairers’ pride in their work and the people’s reactions to the things being brought in for repair are just perfect.”

@Mrgarriock admitted: “In other news, I just watched The Repair Shop for the first time and cried three times in half an hour.”
