#SCOTTISHLABOUR

Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar has said his party is "back on the pitch again" in Scotland following the Holyrood election.

@Thebardofbute said: “Back on the pitch . . . with a couple of players sent off. That can only mean more defeat. Anas Sarwar needs to properly talk to his party members about their stance on independence and find out what members want, not the underlings of Keir Starmer.”

@Brown666w posted: “If you are building something, it tends not to shrink, wither and die. He lost another two MSPS. There is a clear direction of travel.”

@Aftonkillie remarked: “It’s just dawned on Starmer that Labour has lost the trust of working people . . . it shows how much interest he has taken in Labour’s failings in Scotland. Sarwar needs to rebuild Labour in preparation for an independent Scotland.”

@guildwars22 commented: “Over 70 per cent of young people and 40 per cet of Labour voters support independence – two of Labour’s main voting demographics. Until Labour can answer them they are doomed.”

@thematic006 posted: “Sometimes you have to step back to go forward but this is delusional.”

@ganbowling added: “If that’s building a credible alternative you carry right on. Eventually, after a couple more elections you’ll be putting the lights out yourself because you’ll be the only person left in Scottish Labour.”

#WENDYSBURGERS

America's second largest burger chain, Wendy’s, is returning to the UK after 20 years with a promise to steal market share from rivals Mcdonald's and Burger King.

@Rkynoch said: “That’s all we need – another fast food chain for an already obese population.”

@ianorchard1 replied: “People do not have to eat there. No one is holding a gun to their head forcing them. It’s people’s own choice to eat there so they have to take responsibility for their own choices.”

@Carlyou12813733 asked: "Whatever happened to Wimpy? They actually used decent bread, not this shiny sponge stuff Mcdonald’s uses. I tried a Mcdonald’s in Las Vegas once thinking it’d be better. It wasn’t."

@Nancarrowcraig advised: "Try their veggie burger.”
