The Home Secretary’s appearance on the BBC’S Andrew Marr show attracted much controversy

@13sarahmurphy wrote – Priti Patel wordmangling her way through a sanctimonious telling-off of the BBC is a particularly offensive way to start a Sunday. Hypocrisy off the scale. Humility nowhere to be seen.

@pauline4glasgow, the Labour MSP Pauline Mcneill tweeted – I've joined with Glasgow colleagues across political parties to tell Priti Patel to stop raids in Glasgow. "We are proud to say that, for more a decade, regardless of who has been in power in Scotland, there has been cross party opposition to dawn raids."

@Belfastend posted – Pritipatel responded to Andrew Marr's question on Nicola Sturgeon's criticism of attempted deportations from Scotland by inciting xenophobia and moral panic unchallenged by Marr by referring to "foreign national offenders and people that have brought great harm to our country".

@Winstoncproject – writes Priti Patel claims herd immunity was never the plan. She says that with no provided evidence. On the other hand, we have multiple articles, videos, an ex-advisor and more suggesting otherwise. What do you believe?

@Sloughforeu opined – Priti Patel on Marr doesn't seem to see the ministerial code as relevant to her (or other ministers) and thinks they should just be allowed to get on with doing their jobs… A slightly terrifying view for the Home Secretary to hold on rule breaking.

@Vad002 responded – Boris Johnson sacked from the shadow cabinet for lying; Priti Patel forced to resign from cabinet by Theresa May for holding secret meetings and yet they now hold the two most powerful jobs in government. If I robbed a bank would they make me chancellor?

@deirdreheenan said – Home Secretary Priti Patel tells Marr the BBC “must” regain the trust and confidence of the public. Thank goodness we have the Johnson government as an unfailing model of the “key pillars” of trust, accountability, probity, transparency, integrity and honesty.

@newsboy23 – added Comes to something when the BBC are being lectured by Priti Patel about trust and confidence.
