International stars return to domestic duty following Netherlands trip

- By GARY HEATLY

Nine Scotland players are returning to domestic action across five clubs in the Eastern Premier Division today.

After playing in the Netherlands last month, the international squad had to stay at home for a period due to the current climate, meaning the nine Eastern Premier players on that trip missed league rounds one and two.

Mark Watt, Matthew Cross, Adrian Neill and Gavin Main (Heriot’s), Michael Leask and Craig Wallace (ion8 Forfarshire), George Munsey (RH Corstorphine), Ali Evans (Carlton) and Dylan Budge (Gen!us Grange) have all been named in their club’s XIS.

Grange are top of the table and, along with Budge, Gordon Goudie, Ryan Flannigan and Ben Davidson come into the side to face a Stewart’s Melville side featuring Andy Appleton against his former team.

Like Grange, Forfarshire have also won two from two and Wallace is back in good form after he smashed 140 not out in a T20 match against Falkland in midweek. Graeme Black also comes into their ranks for the home clash with an unchanged Meigle team.

Heriot’s and Carlton both won last weekend and meet at Goldenacre. As well as the four internationals quartet, Keith Morton and Michael Shean come in for Heriot’s, while Evans captains Carlton and is able to call on the services of ex-ireland cap Rory Mccann.

Sixteen-year-old Ru Mcintyre also gets his chance in the first team after he scored 39 not out and took 4-21 for the second team on May 22.

Watsonians have batter Mike Carson back for the trip to RHC, while Scotland batter George Munsey is set to make his league debut for the hosts at Barnton, Nick Murray, Johnnie Brydon and Arnie Sathiy also coming into the XI.
