Grange going for four wins in a row as leaders host Stoneywood Dyce

- By GARY HEATLY

Gen!us Grange are top of the Eastern Premier Division table and they will be looking to make it four wins from four when they welcome Stoneywood Dyce to Portgower Place this afternoon.

Young duo Jamie Cairns and Tom Mackintosh come into the Grange side from the one that defeated Stewart’s Melville seven days ago.

Lennard Bester, Jan Stander, Ryan Williams and Shazhad Ahmad join the Stoneywood Dyce side to travel south.

Mikey Grant and David Noble return to the RH Corstorphine team as they head across the capital to play Carlton at Grange Loan.

Arbroath make the trip to Inverleith to play winless Stew Mel with Blair Carnegie standing in for unavailable captain Marc Petrie.

“I am honoured to be asked to captain the team in this game,” Carnegie said.

“Last weekend’s win over Stoneywood showed what we are capable of and we want to build on it. We know Stew Mel will be desperate to get their first league win of the season, so we’ll have to play well and are all focused on doing that.”

Meigle will host Watsonians at Victory Park while the ion8 Forfarshire versus Heriot’s match is off.

Meanwhile, a number of Scotland players who play in the division are out of action this weekend after an unnamed internationalist tested positive for Covid-19 during routine lateral flow testing prior to Scotland ‘A’ versus MCC matches during the week.

The ‘A’ matches were called off immediately and all other players who could have been exposed then returned negative PCR tests, but they are not playing this weekend “out of an abundance of caution”, a Cricket Scotland statement said.
