Andrew Neil launched a TV news channel claiming to get away from ‘fake news’.

@Uneed2beawake wrote: “It's unwatchable. Background is far too dark in the studio; sound and vision out of sync and the stupid settee is a dreadful idea as presenters cannot get comfy. A disaster and impossible to watch.”

@Beautif tweeted: “Billion dollar backers, yet production values from the 1980s. What a joke, this channel is – comes off as a cross between Alan Partridge & This Morning.”

@sevimnezahat replied: “I agree with the remarks on the video quality but it was the launch evening and this presentation should be shown in journalism schools.”

@KJLZOOP wrote: “It's a news channel but not no news, new fresh voices who haven't be heard and you roll out Farage, straight to the facts and let Dan Wootton go on a some loony rant. It's not looking good."

@Snappersmocaps repied: “I suspect it's because of the enormous expense of rolling bulletins. They are trying to keep costs to a minimum."

@andy_travels wrote: “Sound/picture not synced. Echoey voices.

Studios far too dark. Low resolution picture. Waffly unprofessional presenters. Lack of experience showing through. Just generally a bit crap.”

@edwardgvickers replied: “As a TV Production student, whether I agree with @Gbnews or not isn't important, but to be able to broadcast, live, to the nation, for the first time, is very difficult to do, and you've got to give them some credit for being able to get a picture, and some sound, on-screen!"

@Aproudeuropean said: “Please please get some hourly headlines or some actual news reporting. Really want the channel to succeed but unless you tell us the actual news I am forced to switch channel to get the news regularly. Completely defeats the object. A 24hr chat show isn’t what the country needed.”

@echobeach19 wrote: “It was unbelievably awful. I liked Andrew Neil's BBC journalism but everything [here] was horrendous. First say you aim to be unbiased and then an hour spouting out a lot of conspiracy theories and drivel. Even if I am not your target audience I expect balanced debate”

@vadid123 said: “I've seen hostage videos with higher production values.”
